This car had a very interesting history as it participated in 24 Hours of Spa and came second, contrary to all expectations. The Mercedes 300 SL, aka, the Rote Sau, is an automotive and racing legend. And by luck, I have the last of the lot in my shelf. It came beautifully packed and was well packed for safety.
I've got my Werk 83, Mercedes 300 SEL (Die Rote Sau)- this car has some disruptive history as it participated in the 24 Hours of Spa and came second in 1971. It competed against such legends as the Ford Capri. But the most absurd thing about it was that this car was converted from a battered Mercedes sedan- AMG made it into a full performance machine and added about 400 hp by overhauling its engine and adding fat tyres!
The model is immaculate and beautiful in red colour-it is bright crimson, hence definitely a conversation started among car enthusiasts. The packaging is good, neatly arranged to prevent shocks, and was bubble wrapped- there is no ding or dent anywhere. This was the last piece remaining and I am its proud owner.
