The Russian main battle tank T-90, known as the T-90S Bhishma in the Indian military, is a formidable armored vehicle that has been in service since the late 1990s. Acquired through a technology transfer agreement, the T-90S Bhishma is produced locally in India.
The tank boasts a range of advanced features, including composite and modular armor, explosive reactive armor (ERA) panels, and increased protection against anti-tank missiles and small arms fire. Its firepower is provided by a 125mm smoothbore gun, capable of firing various projectiles such as armor-piercing rounds and high-explosive anti-tank shells. The tank's automatic loader enables a faster rate of fire.
Equipped with advanced electronics and sensors, including a fire control system, thermal sights, laser rangefinders, and night vision capabilities, the T-90S Bhishma ensures accurate targeting and engagement, even in low-light conditions.
